A big thanks to the MN Resolve advocacy group for doing all this work...everyone needs to sign this petition and lobby their legislators!
Your petition is very poorly worded. Infertility is not a disease! In one spot you say 80,000 families. In other you say 100,000 families are affected. Which one is it? Also insurance companies are NOT obligated to treat other diseases such as smoking, alcoholism, etc. You need to do some research. I have full insurance coverage for infertility and realize I am among very few and consider myself blessed. I would sign your petition but I don't believe it will go anywhere without more time, effort, and research.
According to both the CDC (Centers For Disease Control) and ASRM, infertility is a disease. It's important that people get their facts strait. It's not an opinion or a maybe but the federal governement under the Department of Health and Human Resources has classified infertility as a disease.
